August 9 — displays of craftmanship & introduction to innovative services

Hey! Come on down August 9 to Staples in Cobourg to see what some of Northumberland’s youthful entrepreneurs have got cooking.

You will see the BECN Youth Entrepreneurship Showcase where you can browse talented craftmanship and innovative services offered by young entrepreneurs in Northumberland County. 

This annual trade-show style event features passionate entrepreneurs from the Summer Company Program and My Future My Career Kids Entrepreneurship Program, offered through the Business and Entrepreneurship Centre Northumberland (BECN).  

Some of the products and services featured at this year’s showcase will include: 

The Summer Company and My Future My Career programs offer students mentorship, business coaching opportunities and micro grants to help young entrepreneurs operate their own small business. The My Future My Career program is available to children ages 8 to 14 and offers micro grants of up to $500. The Summer Company program is funded with support from the Government of Ontario and is available to students ages 15 to 29. Successful applicants from this program receive $3,000 in micro grants to help fund start up costs of operating a business.
